Position Summary :
The Associate Director of CRM Administration plays a key role in systems, technology, and data management for the Recruiting and Admissions Office at the Jones Graduate School of Business. This role provides technology expertise and support in the development, management, and usage of systems, databases, electronic communications, custom reports, and ad hoc queries. This position helps improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations in the areas of recruitment/marketing, admissions, operations, application processing, and data integrity. The Associate Director of CRM Administration provides technical and data-related services, support, and training related to records management, data retention, student applications, drip-campaign communications, form building, and online event management. The Associate Director is responsible for the overall design, maintenance, and support of the Rice Business Admissions CRM, Slate by Technolutions.

Rice University is seeking applications for a CRM Associate Director for the Jones Graduate School of Business with advanced experience in the CRM platform Slate. The ideal candidate is skilled at configuring, customizing, and continuously improving technical systems to support recruitment, admissions, and retention goals, while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver clear, actionable insights through tailored reports, dashboards, and communications.

Hiring Range:
$65,000 to $71,000, contingent upon experience and qualifications.
This is a full-time, exempt position.
*Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.

Workplace Requirements:
Rice Business primarily delivers residential classes and activities taking place almost daily between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. We value a highly collaborative and community-based culture, with expectations to provide in-person support and services to all members of our community. Remote work options are limited. Most employment activities are required to be performed in person and on campus. This in-person approach is central to the successful achievement of our research and academic missions.

This position may be offered as a hybrid role and may combine both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. Remote work opportunities may be extended to the candidate following the successful conclusion of the probationary period.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years of directly related experience in higher education data management and/or information systems/CRM development

Skills:
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work with data of varying levels of quality and validity
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Basic statistical ability
  • Advanced ability to collect data using a variety of methods, such as data mining or electronic documentation study, to improve or expand database capabilities

Preferences:
  • Experience and support in a higher education environment
  • Experience executing data quality validations, cleansing data, and utilizing reporting systems
  • Experience with student information systems such as Banner, document management, admissions, and/or enrollment operations
  • Experience with Slate by Technolutions

Essential Functions:
The Associate Director will assess and produce custom reports showing business solutions tailored to new trends, demands, and concepts in higher education
  • Working knowledge of Slate, Salesforce, or a similar CRM platform
  • Manage yearly and ongoing updates related to application management (i.e., workflows, decision letters), populations, queries, reports, electronic communications functions, and other technical processes using a variety of software applications
  • Devise methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources using a variety of qualitative and quantitative techniques
  • Determine and recommend additional data collection and reporting requirements
  • Design and customize reports based on data in the database
  • Serve as a resource for non-routine inquiries, such as requests for statistics or surveys
  • Lead the implementation of data standards and common data elements for data collection
  • Collaborate with client/department manager to standardize and systematize routine reports, dashboards, and metrics
  • May test prototype software and participate in the approval and release process for new software
  • In-depth knowledge and experience using and applying analytical software, database management system software, database reporting software, database user interface and query software, and data mining software
  • Advanced ability to collect data using a variety of methods, such as data mining and hard copy or electronic documentation study, to improve or expand databases
  • Basic statistical ability
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highly organized, flexible, and rigorous attention to detail
  • Ability to use logic to calculate data; efficiently construct a database or scrutinize the form of a question
  • Demonstrated ability to produce data in a clear and understandable manner, meeting user requirements
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple internal and external customers
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
