The Ascend Learning Healthcare Segment leads the way in innovation and solution creation to improve outcomes and deliver results for students, educators, and healthcare workers in the ever-changing field of healthcare. WHAT YOU'LL DO 

As a Media Coordinator, you will work within the Innovative Learning and Assessment Solutions department, assisting with the creation of multimedia assets for learning products. The team has diverse media production skills including audio and video staging, recording, editing, and publishing services as well as illustration and 2-D animation. You will coordinate and contribute to many aspects of the multimedia processes including casting, preproduction through post-production, working with freelancers, and light administrative work. You will work with all members of the Multimedia department as well as teams of writers, artists, project managers, and QA testers. 

WHERE YOU'LL WORK 

This position will work from our Leawood, KS office hybrid location. 

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME 

  • Coordinate the audio and video audition and casting process (work with casting agencies by sending out scripts and receiving audition clips, organizing and reviewing submissions and weeding out unlikely candidates prior to handing off to Director.) 
  • Assist with the coordination of the audio recording and filming process with the assistant media coordinator, book recording dates/times with vendors, directors, and actors, facilitate handing off assets and notes for rough cuts and final mixes, contract and waiver signing and filing. 
  • Support the captioning and transcription processes for all audio and video content (with the assistant media coordinator, send assets to vendors and retrieve finished files, also growing use of AI to generate captions in-house) 
  • Participate in pre, prod, and postproduction work (act as a production assistant at video shoots: create and track shooting details in spreadsheets, send out scripts and schedules, purchase props and costumes, order and facilitate catering, assist with load-in and equipment checks, manage talent on-set.) 
  • Assist the department director and/or department manager in coordinating freelancers (send instructions, documentation, and project files as directed by supervisors; facilitate delivery of assets) 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED 

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience in film production, mass communications, performing arts, or journalism
  • Understanding of media and/or performing arts processes 
  • Experience in a production-type environment 
  • Strong verbal, visual and written communication skills 
  • Outstanding organizational skills 
  • Able to follow direction and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner while also being a motivated self-starter 
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 preferred, knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus
