Manager, Tax Services (Finance)



The Equifax Tax Services - Tax Manager will lead a team of Equifax Senior Tax Consultants in performing and delivering tax projects to our diverse client base. Those products include services that typically emanate from our client's mergers and acquisition activity (but not always). Those services include taxing jurisdiction "registrations" (across multiple states) as well as services associated with exiting particular taxing jurisdictions. In addition, our clients will often avail themselves of tax avoidance strategies which may involve the movement of employees between various tax/alignment structures as well as seeking our guidance on the allowable taxing structures. "Compliance" reporting includes transfers of business, stock/asset purchases, entity conversions, and bankruptcy review. The team also performs wage base restart "look-back" audits in order to recover client overpayment of taxes. These products range from the very straightforward to the quite complex and can involve numerous taxing jurisdictions and parties. Our services are provided in a Professional Services offering environment at Equifax with its' own P&L. Products are tracked at the individual level to ensure both client and Equifax goals are achieved. The position involves extensive client interaction to ensure client satisfaction with Equifax products including assisting with all aspects of client delivery starting with Contract Development Assistance and ending with Client Product Acceptance. This is an opportunity to transform structure, hone product development and build a high performing team at the same time.

What you'll do

  • Revenue Stream growth, P&L management and Client Interaction/Ownership.
  • Work with Senior Leadership to drive operational/delivery strategic initiatives.
  • Articulate Value Conveyance to both internal and external clients.
  • Interface with Senior Sales Leadership and align growth initiatives.
  • Lead/Manage a team of Senior Tax Consultants in providing timely and accurate tax products to our clients.
  • Provide consulting expertise and convey tax legislation updates to internal and external clients. Required to interact with many of our taxing jurisdictions.
  • FUTA, FICA, SUI, SIT, LIT
  • Provide technical guidance and strategic tax planning advice on client tax matters.
  • Provide leadership and direction in critical or escalating tax matters.
  • Review and interpret contracts to obtain details of project scope and client expectations.
  • Assign and monitor team workload to ensure timely and accurate execution of projects.
  • Manage and mentor team members to achieve greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in company procedures.
  • Oversee direct report development with regular coaching/feedback sessions to validate/track advancement.
  • Perform special projects and related duties as assigned.

What experience you need:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Multiple years of external client interaction delivering compliance focused products.
  • Experience managing a team of professionals delivering projects/client value
  • Some client travel to be expected.

What could set you apart
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Google GSuite and Work Certified Public Accountant
  • Advanced knowledge of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Experience working with various Tax Authorities
  • Ability to comprehend technical information, analyze data, draw conclusions and recommend solutions.
  • Experience with the tracking of discreet projects including setting budgets, estimating hours remaining to complete, assessing earned value and developing escalation procedures to affect successful project closure.
