Sales Representative - Manchester, NH (Construction)

Position Overview

This is a skilled position responsible for facilitating external sales of ready-mixed concrete. The sales representative is responsible for maintaining high quality communications between our existing customer base, prospective customers and operating departments.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

The criterion for evaluation in this position includes but is not limited to the following:

SALES & MARKETING

  • Comprehensive sales and marketing of all products, including concrete, to municipalities, commercial businesses and large residential projects.
  • Follow up on all sales/quotes and collection procedures, when necessary.
  • Accurate pricing of products based on given cost factors.
  • Keeping fully abreast of the current marketing condition and the activities of competitors.
  • Develop current relationships, prospect for new accounts and grow customer base.
  • Provide a high level of "customer service" to all clients.
  • Accurate and timely preparation of various paperwork, including estimate sheets, contracts, credit approval, billing reports, etc.
  • Ability to derive quantities from plans.

OPERATIONS

  • Daily coordination with Dispatch to ensure maximum utilization of trucks, equipment and people.
  • Assist with other subsidiary operations as needed.
  • Oversee and coordinate private projects to ensure proper layout, scope of work, cost control, profitability, and overall quality of work.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the public a
  • Must have an outgoing personality and be at ease interacting with clients
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be adept at making "cold calls"
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
  • Strict adherence to Redimix policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school. Bachelor's degree (B.E., B.M., B.B.) from four-year college or university preferred. 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

General Requirements

  • Interacting with salespersons, co-workers, customers, and contractors is a primary responsibility, including daily internal communication between departments to complete projects on time and on budget.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other employees.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations and analyze data using statistics.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to develop files using Microsoft Excel, Hyperion, and Viewpoint to track performance metrics and financial performance.
