Production Control Supervisor (Finance)



Production Control Supervisor, St. Joseph DC

What you will do:

As a Production Control Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations for multiple areas and shifts. Your focus will be on leading, developing, and motivating production teams to maximize productivity, improve efficiencies, and ensure smooth workflow execution. This role is central to plant-level operations and directly impacts production performance.

How you will do it:

  • Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and supervise production personnel to meet quality and output targets. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks, implement efficiency improvements, and ensure adherence to standardized work procedures.

  • Daily Operations Management: Analyze production schedules, monitor equipment performance, and material flow to meet shift goals. Address issues promptly to minimize downtime.

  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, GMP (if applicable), and company policies to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

  • Reporting & Communication: Document production metrics, escalate critical issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, maintenance, quality, logistics) to resolve challenges.

What we look for:

Required:

  • Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and have difficult conversations with diverse personalities.

  • Management Experience: Prior roles in supervision or team management within production environments.

  • Operational Skills: Production scheduling experience and proficiency in Excel for data analytics.

  • Availability: Flexibility to work 1st shift, Saturdays, and overtime as needed.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree + 1 year of supervisory experience OR 2-year degree + 6 years of experience (or equivalent combination).

  • Union Facility Experience: Familiarity with labor union dynamics and collective bargaining agreements.

  • Process Improvement: Knowledge of lean manufacturing (5S, Kaizen) or Six Sigma.

  • Technical Tools: Experience with ERP/MES systems for production tracking.
