Lead 1, Maintenance Technician (Finance)



Job Summary

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for upholding world-class quality by implementing best-in-class maintenance practices in accordance with machine instructions, company policies, and established procedures. This role oversees and coordinates all maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of equipment. Leading a team of maintenance and machine repair technicians, this position focuses on minimizing downtime, optimizing machine performance, and driving continuous improvement to enhance overall productivity.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee Maintenance Operations: Ensure that machines and equipment are properly maintained, repaired, and operating efficiently to support production schedules. Assign maintenance tasks to technicians as needed.
  • Monitor Work Assignments: Determine which maintenance personnel are responsible for specific repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for outside contractors.
  • Oversee TPM scheduling while ensuring timely execution and tracking of all associated tasks to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Coordinate with production team to make real-time decisions to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues, ensuring continuous equipment functionality and minimizing disruptions to production.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance machine up time and minimize maintenance costs.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop maintenance team members to enhance skills and drive high performance.
  • Repair and Troubleshooting Management: Identify when machine repairs or adjustments are needed, prioritize work orders, and coordinate resources to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain Cleanliness and Organization: Ensure that maintenance work areas, tools, and equipment are kept clean, organized, and in compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Adjust and Calibrate Equipment: Make necessary machine adjustments and calibrations to ensure optimal performance and adherence to operational standards.
  • Interpret Instructions Accurately: Follow both verbal and written instructions effectively.
  • Read Technical Documentation: Interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to support troubleshooting and repair efforts.
  • Perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Conduct routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose and Repair Systems: Troubleshoot and repair a range of systems including electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components.
  • Operate Basic Machining Tools: Utilize machining equipment such as mills and band saws to fabricate or modify parts as needed.
  • Manage Maintenance Records: Accurately maintain logs, reports, and documentation related to maintenance activities.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor and manage spare parts and consumable hardware inventory to ensure availability and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with machine operators and supervisors to support production needs and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Apply Lean Principles: Actively support and apply Lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement.
  • Comply with Company Policies: Adhere to all company policies related to Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
