Production Scheduler - Healthcare Reprocessing (Day Shift) (Finance)



The production scheduler is responsible for scheduling and updating daily production and training. They work to optimize the testing schedule and workflow by managing media and/or supplies, scheduling work and training for analysts/technicians with the aid of area management, eliminating testing interruptions and maintaining production metrics. They support the Senior and Lab Operations Managers in meeting KPI's and are accountable for scheduling the work in process to meet the business needs and client expectations for delivery and service.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent
  • Strong understanding of the production process and basic knowledge of scheduling in production
  • 1+ years of experience in Production Scheduling or similar role
  • Proven knowledge and experience with scheduling, workflow, resource planning and managing inventory

Preferred (Not Required):
  • Experience in a Production Laboratory; Medical Device or Pharma Testing
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant Life Science
  • Preferred science and lab testing experience

Essential Duties:

Lab Operations

  • Create and manage daily and weekly production and training schedules for all applicable shifts and tests.
  • Provides quick responses to production issues.
  • Work with Sales and Area Management to schedule sponsors to meet estimated completion date for on time delivery.
  • Schedule GLP testing in accordance with priority and audit phase.
  • Escalate and report previous day/weeks' production as needed to area management.
  • Scheduling to optimize testing workflow.
  • Working cross functionally with other departments such as media/supplies to optimize inventory.
  • Support the Lab Operations Manager as they work to improve productivity by scheduling testing, optimizing resources and communicating training needs.
  • Develop and implement action plans to address productivity issues.
  • Maintain and monitor production metrics in accordance with goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office and lab environment, this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, computer mouse, phones, photocopiers, projectors and file cabinets. This role would occasionally enter the lab to perform work.

Physical requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to perform the essential job functions. Must be able to move/traverse 10% of the day and remain in the stationary sitting/standing position at a desk while using a computer, keyboard, computer mouse and phone 90% of the day.
