Retail Trade Financial Analyst

We are seeking a Retail Trade Financial Analyst to join our Dairy Foods FP&A team. In this role, you will provide analyti cal and administrative support for the $2B Dairy Foods retail products and Vermont Creamery portfolios. You will be a trusted business partner ensuring communication, oversight, and accurate reporting of customer trade spend, and a key team member for month-end and year-end processes. This role partners closely with the US Dairy Foods FP&A Manager to understand annual trends, recognize areas for optimization, record spend accurately, and communicate effectively across the organization.

This position is located at our Arden Hills Corporate Headquarters (Hybrid Work Arrangement each week). Qualified internal candidates outside of our Arden Hills location may be considered for a virtual/remote work arrangement.

Your primary responsibilities include:

• Lead the financial analysis and review of retail and Vermont Creamery trade spend versus budget (by product category, event type, customer, and in total) and versus approved customer contracts

• Communicate clear impacts to key stakeholders to ensure appropriate budget management

• Direct the year-end accrual process to ensure liability and spend are captured in the correct fiscal year and the correct expense account. Assist with similar routine month-end and quarter-end processes

• Administer slotting expense, royalty expense, and prepaid customer deposits. Periodically report spend to FP&A and marketing teams

• Be a key contributor on the cross-functional team, working with retail sales, marketing, FP&A, accounting, and customer credit to optimize both actual spend and process flow

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree required in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• Minimum 4-6 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the retail or CPG industry

• Working knowledge and direct application of balance sheets, income statements and cash flow concepts

• Strong PowerBI and Excel skills preferred

$79,200-$118,800. In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.
