Research Associate (Finance)



The Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, Dr. O-Uchi's laboratory is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, detail-oriented, and collaborative applicant who can efficiently work in a fast-paced environment. High level of independence, the ability to think critically and good writing skills are expected. Dr. O-Uchi's lab and the USF provides excellent training and collaborative environment for research.MINIMUM:

Master's degree from an accredited institution with demonstrated record of academic research achievement, or professional qualifications in the field of specialization above those which would be equivalent to the highest degree. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Research Associate.

PREFERRED: Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biophysics, biochemistry, physiology or related area and have demonstrated high-level qualifications and in-depth knowledge in the area of cardiovascular research and/or mitochondrial biology. Candidates should have experience in leading or supporting basic science research and a publication track record of successful research, Cell culture and maintaining human iPSC derived cardiomyocytes and cell lines, Protein immunoprecipitation and qPCR, Familiarity with a variety of laboratory technologies including the development of cardiovascular disease animal models, in vivo cardiac function measurements, and live cell imaging using confocal microscopes, Generation, verification, and maintenance of transgenic animal lines.

Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university.
Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.
Responsible for academic advising and related activities.
