The Maintenance Assistant supports maintenance and horticulture in maintaining properties and performing general maintenance and horticulture tasks.
Responsibilities
• General repairs & maintenance
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Carpentry
- Heating and cooling repairs
- Interior and exterior painting
• Preventative maintenance
• Curb appeal
• Assist with turnovers (Commercial suite and/or Residential apartments)
• Snow removal
• Assist with building cleaning and housekeeping needs
• Answer emergency maintenance calls on a schedule basis
Seasonal Horticulture to include:
• Assist in the daily upkeep of plants
• Plant, weed, mulch, prune, and water plants & shrubs
• Assist in the daily/weekly inspection of grounds
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• A strong aptitude in maintenance trades such as plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems; HVAC certification preferred
• Self-starter with good interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with and ability to use smart phones, MS Outlook, Adobe PDF
• Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Must strictly adhere to safety requirements
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Must maintain company quality and quantity standards
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills
• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and
independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements:
• Able to climb stairs, ladders
• Ability to walk, stand for long periods of time
• Able to bend & lift, crouch & stoop, kneeling & crawling
• Overhead reach, pushing, pulling, and hand tool use
• Able to lift 50+ pounds
