Electronic Data Interchange Coordinator (Finance)



Primary Responsibility :

Define and perform in depth analytical systems development tasks to improve the quality of information and service to functional business units. Responsibilities include test planning, testing, documentation, training, and customer support. Monitor the status of inbound and outbound EDI transmissions to ensure that transactions are successfully received and/or sent.

Works with IT partners business development teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and creates technical scope document that supports business needs. Actively participates in project meetings in requirements gathering sessions.

Coordinates, produces and distributes business documents such as reports, system and process documentation.

Possess knowledge of programming principles and the I-series platform.

What You'll Do :

• DESIGN: Works closely with Functional/Systems Analyst to develop and document technical designs from functional requirements/specifications, considering architectural, as well as programmatic aspects of the agreed-upon solution. Prepares and validates time estimates for program modifications, enhancements, new application software, or any other technology requirements. Follows appropriate internal processes, as well as established industry standards for software design.

• TESTING: Creates test plans, test files, and scripts for unit testing through integration testing. Performs testing as required & documents results. Perform unit, system and integration testing for appropriate EDI functions. Follows appropriate internal processes, as well as established industry standards for software testing.

• IMPLEMENTATION: Follows appropriate change management and implementation procedures. Ensures that appropriate technical and functional documentation is prepared.

• INTEGRATIONS: Coordinates and implements new EDI methods and systems and enhances and upgrades existing systems. Designs and create user file definitions, maps, and trading partner relationships. Works with both external and internal EDI customers to support, design and develop current and future EDI initiatives.

• SUPPORT: Primarily supports WMS/TMS/EDI and other integration applications. Perform majority of level one and two support (on-call or after hours) on critical applications within the Americold organization, escalating as required. Coordinates and works with call center manager on support tickets that can't be handled by first level support.

• Clearly communicate business and technical issues to both business and IT partners.

• Uses transmission status tracking tools on the AS400 to ensure successful completion of inbound and outbound transactions.

• Is the primary contact for internal and external customers for day to day problems, questions, etc.

• Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems and make recommendations to improve existing systems.

• Monitors the status of functional acknowledgements and follows up with customers whenever they are not received.

• Resends/reprocesses inbound and outbound transmissions as needed.

• Maintains file of EDI mapping specifications for all transaction sets supported by Americold.

• Develops EDI mapping using various mapping tools within organization

• Maintains a directory of EDI trading partners.

• Travel is estimated up to 25%.

• Other duties as requested.

What Experience and Education You Need :

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

• 2+ years of experience with AS/400 / iseries and/or Gentran environments required

• 1+ year experience with EDI translator and strong knowledge of Inovis Trusted Link EDI software or Sterling Gentran required

• Good understanding of EDI translations software required.

• Understanding of EDI concepts including transaction set structure, standards compliance, and communication concepts required.

• Working knowledge of FTP/AS2/XML and other communications protocols desired.

• Possesses analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills

• Has the ability to trouble shoot EDI maps as well as create and maintain mappings.

• Experience with RedPrairie WMS and Integrator a plus

• Experience with SAP integrations and IDOC mapping a plus

• Experience with warehouse management systems and transportation management systems a plus

• Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management
