Director of Marketing and Communication (Finance)



Summary/Objective
The Director of Marketing will develop and lead an integrated marketing and communications program supporting the Universitys strategic plan, branding, and enrollment efforts.

Essential Job Duties
Oversee the development, integration, execution, and evaluation of marketing plans for the University and its academic programs across all campuses Direct project and campaign workflow within marketing team Oversee team of direct reports including graphic designer, social media coordinator, and student interns Contribute to marketing projects through design, copywriting, and media production Collaborate with marketing team to create schedules and manage resources Anticipate and manage all collateral and processes to meet deadlines Communicate needs, conflicts and issues that hinder successful execution Design, develop, maintain, and continue the enhancement of integrated marketing and communications initiatives as well as execute progressive public relations efforts to increase awareness and to enhance the overall University image, both regionally and nationally Coordinate the efforts of University staff responsible for enrollment marketing, public information, media relations, publications, editing, internal communication, web content management, and advertising Apply best practices in integrated marketing, brand messaging, public relations, and social media, as well as current market trends in higher education Serve on the Emergency Management Team and be well-versed in crisis communications and disaster planning and implementation Provide leadership to develop, articulate and implement a vision for marketing and communications Maintain brand consistency by monitoring logo usage Sets an example of a Christian lifestyle for students, staff, and faculty Commitment and adherence to Southwest Baptist Universitys Principles and Expectations
Position Requirements
Required
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field Professional experience in marketing and communications or related experience Organizational and managerial skills Leadership and interpersonal skills and the expertise to develop, articulate and implement a vision for marketing and communications Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent computing skills utilizing a variety of industry-standard software and hardware. Demonstrated capability in leading and managing a motivated staff Proven competence in managing multiple tasks and competing priorities
Preferred
Masters degree Competence in Adobe Premier Products, particularly InDesign and Photoshop Experience with photography and or videography Demonstrated success in public relations and brand management Demonstrated direct experience working with media markets and social media channels
Work Environment
Shared office environment with some noise Must be available to work varied hours and frequently attend activities away from the office Must be able to operate standard office equipment
Physical Abilities
Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
