Test Scheduler MRI DXA (Healthcare)

Position Summary
The Test Scheduler schedules ordered tests, authorization verification with the patients health insurance and/or workers compensation. Pre-registration of all scheduled tests, with reminder calls to include patient screening for MRI compatibility. Schedules follow up appointments as deemed necessary by the ordering physician.

Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities
Schedule tests ordered by the physician, NP or PA, and outside referrals for MRI, DXA or others as needed. Registers patients for MRI and Physical Medicine and Rehab Services. Assists with Pre-certification/authorization of the test with the patients health insurance. Schedules follow-up appointments if applicable.

Screens patients for safety issues prior to procedure and answers patient questions. Investigates contraindicated conditions of patients before MRI scanning. Acquires documentation of unverified implants. Works with MRI Technologists.

Provides adequate documentation to the technologist for pending tests including test order schedules. Documents all pertinent information in patients medical records.

Confirms outside referring physicians current medical license. Documents and runs reports on cancellations. Contacts ARI for reporting issues/corrections.

Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physician, and other CCOC employees.

All other duties not specifically assigned.

Position Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience: Prior medical office experience preferred, One (1) to Three (3) years of demonstrated experience in field or profession preferred; Prior Test Scheduling, and/or Registration experience preferred.
