Printing Services Bindery/Printing Technician (Maintenance)



We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Bindery Operator to join our fast-paced printing team. The successful candidate will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot bindery equipment to produce high-quality finished printed materials, such as books, magazines, catalogs, brochures, and other products. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment. The Bindery Operator will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate completion of production jobs while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Duties:

  • Performs advanced operation of area specific production equipment.
  • Produces products to established standards.
  • Maintains quality standards at all times.
  • Follows established procedures for time and cost reporting.
  • Collects, maintains and organizes accurate job data from multiple sources.
  • Performs complex repairs and adjustments with no direction from the supervisor.
  • Provides training to Bindery Printing Technicians as required.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.

Required Education: High School diploma or GED, AND: 

  • 36 months of advanced printing and duplicating experience related to digital and offset printing.

Skills:

  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
  • Read and understand complex written materials such as blueprints, metrics, or technical manuals
  • Able to work independently
  • Detail oriented for quality production
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple project and deadlines

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motion
  • Exposure to physically demanding tasks
  • Lifts 50 lbs. or more occasionally, bending and stooping
  • Regular exposure to noise and odors

Departmental Preferences:

  • Previous experience with bindery equipment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Printing or mailing experience
