Senior Manager, Product Portfolio (Finance)

This is a remote role within the U.S. The position requires frequent computer use, virtual collaboration, and regular communication with colleagues and customers. Occasional travel to industry events or customer locations is expected (up to 20%). Employees must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Sr Prodcut Pricing and Portfolio Manager to join our dynamic team at Hexagon MI (HMI) Design & Engineering (D&E). Reporting to the VP of Product Management, this role combines strategic leadership with operational execution to manage the entire D&E product portfolio, including packaging, licensing, and pricing. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership capabilities to effectively oversee and optimize the performance of our product offerings.

Product Pricing and Portfolio Strategy

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the D&E product portfolio packaging, licensing, and pricing aligned with HMI business objectives and market trends.
  • Drive revenue growth and profitability through performance analysis, cost optimization, and effective pricing/packaging/discounting strategies.
  • Harmonize the product portfolio and simplify offerings by reducing the number of products and implementing consistent packaging and licensing rules.
  • Lead modernization initiatives including establishing a viable cloud marketplace and introducing modern SaaS business models.
  • Define the strategy and oversee the migration of customers away from legacy licensing models.


Product Pricing and Portfolio Operations
  • Define and implement end-to-end portfolio packaging, licensing, and pricing operations from product launch to retirement.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to monitor portfolio performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance to Product Managers and manage the product catalog including price book, sales policies, packaging, migrations, and end-of-life processes.
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, Sales Operations, and Legal to ensure consistent product offerings and integration into business systems (ERP, CPQ, SFDC).
  • Implement and monitor product usage reporting and telemetry dashboards across the portfolio.
  • Engage with customers and sales representatives to gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Report on product performance, usage trends, and portfolio health, and make strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks including market volatility, competitive threats, and compliance issues.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with development, marketing, sales, and support teams to ensure seamless execution across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years' of experience in Product Management, Portfolio Management, or related roles within the software industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, financial metrics, and customer insights.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of the CAE industry and software licensing is highly desirable.
  • Experience with technology contract negotiation and management.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management, critical thinking, and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical and business problems in a multinational environment.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset and ability to support cross-product solutions.
  • Knowledge of Jira and Salesforce systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

This role has high visibility within the company and demands a self-starter who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution while fostering collaboration across teams. By working closely with the leadership team, and engaging directly with customers and sales representatives, this individual will optimize the D&E portfolio performance and deliver sustainable revenue growth for the D&E portfolio.
