Compensation & Benefits

 Salary Range: $115,000 – $125,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Position Purpose

Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region (HCR) is seeking a visionary and mission-driven Vice President of Family Services to lead and expand our family-centered programs. This executive role is responsible for developing and overseeing strategies that support homeownership education, critical home repair services, and other essential support programs. The VP will provide leadership to  a team of 20+ professionals and manage a portfolio of over 1,150 mortgages, directly impacting more than 5,000 families across our service area.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the Family Services team with a clear vision and collaborative culture.
  • Oversee family selection, mortgage underwriting and servicing, financial education, and home sales.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local housing regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand services and increase family impact.
  • Build and maintain strong community partnerships and neighborhood relationships.
  • Support long-term affordability initiatives and aging-in-place programs.
  • Monitor and improve program impact through data analysis and community feedback.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of management experience, including 5+ years at the executive level.
  • Background in nonprofit or social services strongly preferred.
  • Experience in mortgage lending, homebuyer education, or housing services.
  • Proven leadership, strategic thinking, and team development skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with loan origination platforms a plus.
  • Knowledge of public grant funding is a plus

Physical Requirements: Ability work in office environment as needed which requires ability to speak, hear, with the visual and manual dexterity to manage papers, reports, and typing. Must embody the capacity to maintain the following for up to eight hours per day: use of personal computer or similar technology, phone, sitting as required. Must have the ability to drive an automobile and current driver's license. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

External Interactions: Applicants, homeowners, volunteers, social support providers, Charlotte community and Board Members

Estimated Time Commitment: At least 40 hours / week
