Graphics Preflight Specialist (Finance)



Manages preflight components of the customer graphic development process, ensuring the design, development, and presentation of packaging artwork work for production according to customer needs and printer specifications. Utilizes technical prepress expertise to effectively communicate and collaborate with customers, internal Regulatory department and prepress and packaging manufacturers.

Manages the graphic preflight processes . Responsible for moving customer projects through the graphic preflight stage of the packaging development process. Prioritizes tasks and monitors project status to ensure timely completion of project milestones. Works collaboratively with Customers, Regulatory peers, and Prepress and Packaging manufacturers to achieve process efficiency and accuracy for packaging development. Review technical details of the Packaging, and executes minor in-house content changes.

Provides guidance for Packaging development . Ensures successful print production by applying technical prepress and graphics expertise to guide the Packaging development. Acts as the internal subject matter expert on prepress matters. Makes determinations on prepress and printing production abilities; advises customers, the Regulatory department, and the sales team.

Builds strong relationships and provides excellent customer service . Guides and develops cooperative relationships between all parties involved in the Packaging development to ensure that customer specifications are met. Maintains relationships with designers, graphics houses, printers, and related vendors. Develops and demonstrates an understanding of assigned product types and print production methods to ensure alignment between customer needs and print production abilities.

Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and vendors, to deliver preflighting in a timely fashion that meet customer needs. Works to reduce and minimize graphic-related packaging development costs. Provides key insights and opportunities for managing cost of packaging production, advising Account Managers of cost factors to ensure meeting budget.

Assists Account Managers as needed . Assists in the evaluation of new designs. Sets up and administrates Preproduction calls.

Participates as a member of the Team . Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives : Is familiar with Simmons's established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities : Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Presents information to small or large groups. Communicates with Customers, Vendors, or Employees via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail. Move about in an office environment and surrounding property daily.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) : As required by visiting facility.

Travel : Travels up to 5%. Travel will be limited however must have or be able to obtain a valid passport.

Technical Experience : 3 years of prepress, production design, or related experience. Must have an extensive knowledge base of prepress processes and techniques. Must be skilled at reviewing minute and technical details. Extensive knowledge of computer software such as Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel required. Word, and Google Dock preferred.

Industry Experience : Preference for consumer-packaged goods or food processing organizations.

Minimum Education : Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field, or 4 years related work experience.
