SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of health and welfare and defined contribution retirement plans.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as first point of contact for the department and maintain the employee benefits customer service email box and phone line. Assist employees with questions related to benefits eligibility and plan offerings. Also help employees resolve eligibility and claims issues. Manage daily benefit transactions to include but not limited to enrollments, processing system life events, processing payments, funding enrollment files, Cobra administration and monitoring benefit payroll deductions. Prepare and maintain benefit documents, records, and reports to support plan administration. Ensure plans are administered in accordance with all federal and state laws, regulations and plans, including COBRA, HIPPA, FMLA and ADA. Audit employee benefit claims data to ensure billings are processed accurately. Provide support with open enrollment season, including but not limited to coordinating employee meetings, responding to employee questions, assisting with system enrollments changes.
Assist management with the development of new processes, testing current processes and providing solutions as needed to improve efficiency. Collaborate with internal partners to achieve departmental outcomes and goals. Ensure data integrity through continuous audits of information stored in the company's HRIS system and the vendor's systems. Support leave of absence administrator with daily activities and serve as backup to leave of absence function. Support and promote company's wellness activities. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or a related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE: 5 years of benefits experience in a corporate or vendor environment familiar with various HRIS platforms.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word. Familiarity with HRIS software, preferably Oracle

Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to identify and/or document existing and new trends as well as evaluate and predict their impact to the organization. Ability to develop, improve and streamline processes to meet established goals and objectives. Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements which affect employee benefits programs. Knowledge of principles, practices and standards of human resources management.
OTHER: Ability to travel when necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
