Job Description
The Merchandising and Planning Coordinator is responsible for directly supporting the D2C Buying and Planning Team in ensuring that day-to-day business runs smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. Assists in the selection and planning of the product assortment, in store merchandising, store strategies and promotional plans. Works closely with the Buying & Planning team to actively respond to changing market conditions through strategic promotional cadence - effectively managing inventory levels and maximizing sales and margin. This is a hybrid role; we work on site 4 days and remotely 1 day, weekly.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete and maintain daily and weekly sales analysis, make recommendations on findings. Look at both short term and long-term strategies to maximize sales and margin while balancing inventory levels.
    • Creates and runs reports for Buying and Planning team as needed (On Order, Sales, Ad-Hoc analysis etc.)
    • Assists Buyers with special projects as needed (i.e., recap projects, trend recaps, trend boards, etc.)
    • Maintains seasonal assortments and creates product boards as needed.
  • Perform daily activities that support the Merchandising and Planning strategies and assist in the creation and maintenance of the product assortments, promotional calendars, planning templates.
  • Submits and maintains purchase orders with the support of the Planning Manager.
  • Track planned buys on a consistent basis. Notify Buyer and Planner of any changes to ETA.
  • Responsible for sku setup and maintenance in APTOS for each season
  • Assist in building and maintaining seasonal and monthly unit forecasts by product category and style.
  • Assists Planning Manager with weekly and monthly contract submissions, rollovers, and/or adjustments.
  • Support Retail Ops, Allocation, E-Com Merchandising and other D2C cross functional teams to assist in the needs of the business that directly impact merchandising.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal departments that influence the D2C business: Finance, Demang Planning, Design, Product Marketing, Brand Marketing, Sourcing, and IT
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of retail or buying experience
  • BS/BA related field
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Strong organizational and written/oral communication skills
  • Exceptional knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Power Point and Word.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret trends and opportunities through comprehensive analysis.
  • Ability to interact with the retail team in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. Must be open to and adaptable to changing business needs.
  • Results focused with a strong sense of urgency, follow through and drive
