Job Overview: Location: Tonawanda, NY The Chemical Operator/ Control Room Operations Specialist is responsible for remotely monitoring and operating over 450 air separation facilities located throughout the United States and Canada. Working in a control room setting, the operator responds to alarms, troubleshoots plant issues, remotely operates, starts, and shuts down air separation equipment, and processes information from plant control systems. The operator must have excellent communication skills and be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift with occasional shift changes. A team player who is willing to work overtime and cover shifts, the operator must also be able to support up to 10% travel for on-site support of facilities. What you will be doing: - Remotely monitor and operate over 450 air separation facilities. - Respond to alarms and troubleshoot plant issues over the phone. - Maintain compliance with procedures and safety policies. - Start and shutdown air separation equipment to meet product demand and maintain peak efficiency. - Process information from plant control systems to make decisions on appropriate courses of action. - Manage a variety of internal and external phone calls, emails, and computer-based logbooks. - Work in a control room setting with up to 16 computer monitors. - Follow safety policies and operating procedures at all times. - Work a 12-hour rotating swing shift with occasional shift changes. - Be a team player willing to work overtime and cover shifts. - Support up to 10% travel for on-site support of facilities.
