QC Lab Lead (Healthcare)

We are currently seeking a QC Lab Lead to join the Wautoma, WI team. Starting Pay is $26 per hour.
- Ensure timely release of blends for packaging, and that any issues are communicated promptly, and corrective actions or investigations completed.
- Release raw materials promptly, manage the overdue raw material list, and coordinate retests, supplier NCR's, and all other duties related to OOS results or rejections.
- Approve and process raw material item and lot transformations to support the planning and production teams.
- Assist in keeping the weekly lab testing and task schedule updated and make changes as necessary to support production and the QA Release Team.
- Monitor Zoom and email to ensure the requests from the QA Release Team are promptly addressed.
- Notify QA Management/Production Management and others as appropriate when ingredients or products do not meet specifications or there are food safety or quality concerns.
- Perform analytical procedures on raw materials, in-process samples and finished products. Record all testing results in timely manner and perform computations leading to accurate data reporting.
- Be an active driver of cost savings by completing new method and new instrument validation steps, training team members on new methods and instruments, and facilitating day to day operations as necessary to ensure time for method development is available frequently and consistently.
- Perform routine maintenance on lab equipment as required. Troubleshoot any equipment issues.
- Facilitate conversations with 3rd party laboratories on testing investigations; respond to testing investigations as required.
- Respond to internal calls to answer technical product questions.
- Follow plant GMP's and safety guidelines to always maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Complete all required documents in a timely manner.
- Provides a positive example for other Team Members by practicing good personal hygiene and following all Food Safety Policies required by MSG.
- Manage the Environmental Monitoring Program, ensuring swabs, water, air, and compressed air quality are completed at their proper times/intervals/rotations, and all retests and vectors are satisfied.
- Communicate monthly EMP data to corporate Quality.
- Initial and annual training, and re-training, of employees, unless a subject matter expert is more relevant for a particular training.
- Timely review of logbooks, worksheets, packets, and other documentation.
- Finished Good composites and LIMS entry review to ensure accuracy of the tests selected, and that all samples are properly prepared and routed to the correct external labs or internal technician or team.
- Attend Zoom meetings as needed when the Lab Manager is out of the office.
- Track and communicate monthly Hazardous Waste totals to onsite EHS.
