About the Team

The Mizuho U.S. Operations ("MUSO") Regulatory Affairs Group is responsible for managing the Bank's regulatory relationships and supervisory engagement across MUSO, ensuring that the company remains compliant with all relevant regulations and maintains strong relationships with regulators.The group is responsible for managing regulatory examinations, reviews, continuous monitoring, inquiries, firmwide regulatory projects and other regulatory-related matters.Additionally, the department oversees regulatory change management, which involves monitoring and analyzing new and emerging regulations and assessing their impact on the organization to ensure ongoing compliance.

Summary

Regulatory Affairs is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Associate to join our team. This role will assist with regulatory exam coordination, development of presentations and briefing materials, and cross-functional support for regulatory engagements. The individual will play a key role in ensuring the firm is prepared for and responsive to regulatory inquiries, exams, and meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination and execution of regulatory exams, including setting up meetings/maintaining group calendar to ensure coordination, managing timelines, tracking document requests, organizing responses, and maintaining detailed records
  • Support the development, formatting, and quality control of presentation materials, reports, and meeting preparation materials
  • Work cross-functionally across Mizuho to collect information, prepare documentation, and ensure alignment on regulatory messaging.
  • Maintain up-to-date regulatory calendars, tracking tools, and document repositories to facilitate regulatory engagements
  • Participate in prep meetings and select regulatory interactions as appropriate, take notes, document follow ups and help track action items
  • Conduct research and assist with the preparation of regulatory trend summaries, engagement trackers, and related reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial institution, compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs.
  • Strong writing, editing, and visual communication skills, especially in developing polished presentation materials.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work discreetly with confidential information

The expected base salary ranges from $90,000.00 -$100,000.00. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
