Corporate Partnerships Development Director - Hybrid (Finance)



Description

In this strategic leadership role, you'll build and grow the Vitalant Foundation's corporate philanthropy program, developing high-impact partnerships with organizations that share our commitment to lifesaving work. From fundraising strategy and revenue growth to corporate grantmaking, employee engagement programs, and event sponsorships, you'll lead efforts that expand our reach and deepen corporate support for our mission.

This position will have a hybrid work environment operating from the Scottsdale, AZ location 3 days per week and working from a remote/ at-home office 2 days per week.

As the Corporate Partnerships Development Director, you'll get to:
  • Develop and lead a multi-year corporate fundraising strategy focused on maximizing revenue through major gifts, grants, cause marketing, in-kind support, and sponsorships.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate partners-locally and nationally-whose values align with Vitalant's mission, maintaining a strong pipeline through strategic prospect research and relationship management.
  • Create compelling, customized proposals and sponsorship packages that communicate mission impact and deliver clear ROI, while aligning with corporate branding and marketing goals.
  • Oversee all aspects of corporate sponsorships and event engagement, including securing sponsorships, developing recognition packages, ensuring fulfillment of sponsor benefits, and serving as a Foundation spokesperson at events and conferences.
  • Lead corporate grantmaking efforts by writing and submitting grant applications, collaborating with internal teams on budgets and reporting, and cultivating relationships with grant officers to grow funding partnerships.
  • Design and implement scalable employee engagement strategies, including workplace giving, matching gift programs, payroll deductions, volunteerism, and support for corporate-hosted blood drives.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (executive leadership, communications, programs, and events teams) to deliver a seamless, personalized donor experience through ongoing engagement and stewardship efforts.
  • Leverage CRM tools (e.g., Virtuous) to document activity, track donor progress, and maintain comprehensive institutional knowledge of corporate relationships.
  • Stay informed on trends in corporate social responsibility and workplace philanthropy to continuously evolve and strengthen the program.

Requirements

Knowledge/ Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, public relations, nonprofit management or related field, required.
  • Master's degree, preferred.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of corporate grant cycles, workplace giving platforms, and philanthropic investment strategies, required.
Licenses/ Certifications

Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE), preferred.

Experience

  • 7 years of progressive experience in corporate development, corporate sponsorship, fundraising, or business development within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization, required. To include:
    • Demonstrated success securing $100,000+ corporate gifts, sponsorships, and grants.
    • Experience developing proposals and delivering donor presentations.
    • Experience working with CRM systems.
  • Demonstrated success securing $1,000,000+ corporate gifts, sponsorships, and grant, preferred.
  • Prior experience working with Virtuous CRM, preferred.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including persuasive proposal development and donor presentations
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in donor databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strategic thinker with strong relationship-building and negotiation abilities.
  • Comfortable engaging with corporate leaders and the community.
  • High degree of initiative, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
  • Occasional travel within Arizona and nationally for donor engagement.
