Social Media Content Strategist (Finance)



The Social Media Content Strategist will be pivotal to the University Communications and Marketing department in reaching its targeted goals related to brand reputation and affinity. This position will report to the UCM Senior Director, Social Media. Social Media Content Strategists are responsible for developing and implementing content strategies to enhance brand awareness, increase engagement, and drive traffic on various social media platforms. They analyze data and trends to create relevant and compelling content that resonates with the target audience. Additionally, they collaborate with marketing teams to align social media content with overall marketing goals and objectives. A successful social media content strategist possesses strong communication skills, creativity, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of social media platforms and trends.Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree -OR- equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 2+ years of related experience.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.

  • Develop and implement concise, engaging, and platform-specific social media posts for USF's enterprise channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X)
  • Create original, social-first content (photos, videos, reels, graphics, copywriting) tailored to platform and audience
  • Utilize strong copywriting/editing skills to optimize written and digital content for the social media space
  • Curate content from internal and external units/sources (i.e. regional campuses, colleges, athletics, health, alumni association, foundation, community partnerships, news outlets, etc.) that align with brand, department, and overall university goals
  • Effectively implement digital content across owned social media channels
  • Immerse in all aspects of social media best practices - including platform capabilities, identifying trends, and creative content concepting specific to owned channels
  • Collaborate with content producers to generate original and repurposed content, combining data driven results with creativity and best practices
  • Utilize owned social media tool(s) to help maintain, monitor, and track social media analytics
  • Specifically track post and page performance across @usouthflorida's channels, measuring KPIs to identify new opportunities for maximizing overall social media performance
