Head Beach Volleyball Coach (Creative Design)



Summary/Objective
All positions in the Department of Athletics are responsible to help student-athletes fulfill the stated missions of Southwest Baptist University and the Department of Athletics.

Essential Job Duties
Makes travel arrangements for beach programsPrepare jerseys for competition for beach programs During beach season will plan practices, coach, manage the beach team, coordinate practice times/facility usage of VBO (Volleyball Beach Ozark), and continue to foster a healthy relationship with the mangers/owners of VBO in Ozark MO. Help organize and lead team building activities Can create online content and maintain volleyball social media accountsRecruits student-athletes Provides sport-specific instruction during practices Coaches student-athletes during scheduled games and / or contestsServes as primary contact for scheduling gamesEnsures a balanced budgetMonitors academic progress of student-athletesComplies with all rules and regulations of the NCAA, GLVC, and SBUAssists in activities hosted by SBU to facilitate recruitmentWorks in cooperation with department members to strengthen all sports programsRegular attendance and punctuality Sets an example of a Christian lifestyle for students, staff and facultyCommitment and adherence to Southwest Baptist Universitys Principles and ExpectationsPerforms other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics

Supervisory Responsibility
The Head Beach Volleyball Coach supervises student-workers assigned to the program.

Position Requirements
Required
Bachelor'sDegree Knowledge of NCAA rules
Preferred
Masters Degree Coaching experience

Work Environment
Must be able to work in typical office and athletics environment. Must be available for frequent travel during season and recruiting times. Night and weekend work required. Must be able to work during crowd noise and loud game environments Must be able to work outdoors Must be able to travel long distances by plane, train, or automobile. Must be able to interact and instruct team members in drills, play formation, and game preparation. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.

Physical Abilities
Must be able to operate and / or maneuver equipment used for the daily training of student-athletes for the sport of volleyball. Must be able to operate standard office equipment such as a personal computer, photocopies, printer, etc. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and hold a valid Missouri Drivers License. Must be able to climb stairs, work in varying temperatures and sit and stand for long periods of time.
