Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
  • Spearhead the daily editorial lineup in partnership with the Digital Director, publishing 10+ stories each day.
  • Act as the point person for Google Discover strategy, collaborating with editors and the audience development team to drive growth from search and establish new content beats.
  • Assign and edit stories across multiple lifestyle categories, ensuring accuracy, quality, and alignment with brand voice.
  • Monitor online conversations around core topics to pitch timely and engaging story ideas for staffers and freelancers.
  • Track analytics daily, using insights from tools like Google Analytics and Parsely to inform editorial decisions and grow traffic, subscribers, engagement, and affiliate revenue.
  • Manage and mentor freelancers and staff contributors to uphold editorial standards and meet deadlines.
  • Occasionally work evenings or weekends as part of the editorial cycle.
  • This role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid schedule (3 days per week in office).
Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
  • 7+ years of experience writing and editing in digital media.
  • Strong service-journalism sensibility with excellent line-editing and packaging skills.
  • Proven track record of growing traffic and audience engagement.
  • Experience managing freelancers and staff writers.
  • Deep understanding of performance metrics and the ability to translate insights into strategy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
  • Passion for digital storytelling, especially within women's lifestyle content.

Compensation

The base salary for this role is between $83,000 - $106,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
