Director of Human Resources

The Director of Human Resources (HR) will oversee all aspects of the Human Resources function, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, and compensation and benefits. This role ensures that HR strategies and programs align with the company's business objectives and core values, promoting a culture of employee engagement, diversity, and inclusion. The Director will serve as a key advisor to the leadership team and play a critical role in shaping MacLean-Fogg's organizational culture and workforce strategy.

  • Position Type: Full -time
  • Pay Range: $114K - $150K
  • Work Location: Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that align with MacLean-Fogg's overall business goals, focusing on talent management, employee development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team on people-related matters, providing insights on talent needs, workforce planning, and cultural development.
  • Oversee the recruitment strategy to attract top talent, ensuring alignment with company culture and business needs. Maintain factory nonexempt recruitment to headcount plan.
  • Develop and implement retention strategies to ensure high employee satisfaction and reduce turnover.
  • Work closely with the GM on organizational development such as succession planning, leadership development, organizational structure, etc.
  • Lead initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workforce.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by managing employee relations, resolving workplace conflicts, and promoting open communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Drive employee engagement programs that enhance morale, job satisfaction, and company loyalty.
  • Manage Workers Comp Administration working closely with EHS Manager.
  • Implement and oversee the company's performance management process, ensuring alignment with company goals and employee development needs.
  • Lead efforts to identify and provide training and development opportunities for employees, promoting continuous learning and professional growth. Oversee training administration.
  • Work closely with the Total Rewards team to assess market competitiveness and recommend changes as necessary.
  • Ensure that all HR policies and practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including employment law, EEO, and other labor regulations.
  • Manage HR audits, reporting, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and governmental standards.
  • Lead and mentor the HR team, providing guidance on HR best practices, compliance, and employee relations.
  • Foster an environment of professional growth within the HR department, ensuring that team members have opportunities for development and advancement.
  • Partner with senior leaders to design and implement organizational structures that support business goals and scalability.
  • Lead change management initiatives to drive organizational transformation and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Competencies

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop HR professionals. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to develop long-term HR strategies that align with the company's mission, values, and business objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess HR metrics, market trends, and employee data to drive decision-making.
  • Experience leading organizational change initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Deep knowledge of HR laws and regulations, including employment law, labor relations, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Required

  • Education: Bachelor's
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in human resources,
  • with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance.

Preferred

  • Certifications: SHRM-SCP, SPHR
