Field Applications Engineer - Internship (Finance)



SUMMARY As an Applications Engineering Intern at Amphenol-CDI, you'll play a key role in connecting our customers' technical needs with our product capabilities. Working side by side with our sales and engineering teams, you'll help ensure we deliver the right solutions to fit challenging and evolving requirements. You'll gain hands-on experience collaborating with product development and marketing teams, while also exploring the latest market trends, technical standards, and competitive offerings. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Support customers in the design phase of new products, helping them identify and apply the right solutions Review and interpret customer specifications, providing input on feasibility and potential cost impacts Recommend the best Amphenol-CDI products to meet customer needs, or collaborate with engineering to develop custom solutions Prepare customer-facing drawings, configurations, and specifications to support proposals Gather and share insight on customer applications, working with both sales and engineering to align on solutions Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams about design challenges, manufacturability, and production capabilities Help develop marketing materials, including presentations, literature, and website content Support technical adoption of our products through "design-in" efforts and ongoing customer support Contribute to shared resources, like application notes, presentations, and guidelines Provide input on market and application trends, user feedback, and competitive activity Participate in marketing initiatives such as webinars, tradeshows, or industry publications Collaborate with the broader Applications Engineering team to document best practices and lessons learned Travel occasionally with the Sales team to support technical discussions and presentations (up to 15%) *Other duties as required in support of the department and the company* SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES Non-Supervisory Role The responsibilities of this role do not include supervising other employees. Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications Eagerness to learn about interconnect technology and real-world product applications Preferred experience in Environmental Health and Safety role LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Conversational in any other language is a plus. JOB SKILLS The ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Team player and able to build and maintain relationships both internal and external. Flexible to change and open to constructive feedback. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Hearing protection in specific locations. Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.
