Position Summary:
As a Rental Sales Representative, you will play a key role in driving revenue growth by renting Caterpillar and allied equipment, selling merchandise, and promoting Wagner Rents' full range of equipment service capabilities. You will develop and manage customer relationships within an assigned territory, consistently delivering outstanding customer service and achieving monthly sales targets in rental revenue, consumable revenue, and market share growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct daily sales calls, maintain progress reports, and submit timely documentation
Develop and maintain weekly sales forecasts
Manage business-related expenses within company guidelines
Collaborate effectively with Wagner departments and personnel to support sales activities
Respond promptly to customer inquiries, including after-hours requests
Proactively research new leads and sales opportunities
Perform face-to-face cold calls and generate new accounts within assigned territory
Maintain and grow relationships with current rental and sales customers
Stay current on all Wagner Rents products, services, and rental offerings
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED (required); College or Trade School coursework (preferred)
5+ years of sales experience in the heavy equipment industry
3+ years of customer service experience
3+ years of sales experience (any industry)
1+ years of administrative/clerical experience
Skills & Competencies:
Strong organizational, communication, and reasoning abilities
Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (Intermediate level)
Product knowledge and safety awareness
Ability to perform data entry and handle multiple tasks efficiently
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and use hands regularly
Ability to climb ladders or stairs
Ability to lift/move objects up to 32 lbs.
Work may include both indoor and outdoor environments, with loud noise levels at times
